Middle Land Chan Monastery
Branch Monastery in Pomona (Los Angeles), CA
To bring the Buddha's compassion and wisdom to Pomona, Venerable Master Wei Chueh, the founding Abbot of Chung Tai Chan Monastery and approximately 108 Zen Centers in Taiwan and overseas, established Middle Land Chan Monastery in April 2008. It is from the traditional Chinese Linji lineage of Chan School.
Middle Land Chan Monastery is situated on 3.2 acres with two main buildings and ample parkings. It is conveniently located in Los Angeles County just south of Freeway 10, in the vicinities of some outstanding colleges,i.e. California State Polytechnic University , Claremont College and Pomona College. With Mt. San Antonio as the backdrop, although it is at the traffic arteries, there are green fields and gardens. The premises is natural and lively in the entirety.
Since inception, it has been a refreshing spring for the spirit, welcoming people of all cultures and faiths or no faith. In the tranquil environment, people learned the ageless wisdom of Buddhism, discovered the joy of meditation, and uncovered the "Buddha Nature" within all of us.
